About quote.video
A good quote deserves better than white text slapped on a stock photo. quote.video exists so that anyone, without design software, an account or a subscription, can turn a few words into something people stop scrolling for: a typewriter line on ruled paper, a verse in soft morning light, a punchy word-by-word reel. You type the quote once and see it, already moving, in hundreds of designs.
What you can do here
- Put any quote into more than 410 templates across 26 styles, from Minimal and Serif classic to Neon, Film grain, Faith, Retro and Brutalist. Every gallery thumbnail plays your own words.
- Animate the text nine ways (Fade, Rise, Typewriter, Word by word, Karaoke, Scale, Blur in, Letter cascade or None) and set the length to 5, 10, 15 or 30 seconds, or to the length of your music.
- Use your own photo or video as the background, with darkening that keeps the words readable, and add your own music with trimming, fades and volume.
- Export for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Stories, feeds, Pinterest and YouTube: an MP4, a PNG or JPG, or a GIF, in one size or several at once.
- Find a public-domain quote in the library, each with its source, when you need words to start from.
How it works
quote.video is a static web app. A small rendering engine lays your quote out (choosing the largest type that fits the format’s safe area, then balancing the line breaks) and draws each frame on a canvas: background, particles, text and animation. The live preview, the gallery thumbnails and the export all use that same engine, so the file matches what you saw. Video frames are encoded by your browser’s WebCodecs encoder and packaged with the open-source mediabunny library; music is mixed with the Web Audio API. Nothing is sent to a server.
Every template passes an automatic legibility check: the text must reach a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against every colour that can sit behind it.
Fonts, quotes and music
-
The 36 typefaces are open-licence (SIL Open Font Licence 1.1 or Apache 2.0) and are served
from quote.video itself, each with its licence file under
/fonts/. - The quote library only contains public-domain text, checked word for word against public-domain editions. Bible verses come from the World English Bible.
- No music tracks are bundled. You add your own, or choose generated music, which your device composes from scratch for each video.
Our promises
- Your words, pictures and music stay on your device.
- No watermark, no account and no charge.
- No adverts anywhere. The only tracking is visit statistics, and Cookie settings turns those off.
- Honest guides, including how to do the same job in apps you may already have.
Who it is for
Creators posting a daily quote, churches sharing a verse, coaches and teachers, small businesses quoting a happy customer, couples marking an anniversary, and anyone who would rather not upload personal words or photos to a stranger’s server.
