Where is the typewriter effect in CapCut?
CapCut’s guide for the desktop app puts it at Text → Add text, then Animation → Typewriter with the text selected. The phone app lists text effects under Animations.
Free · runs in your browser
The CapCut steps for a vertical quote video with animated text and music, and a browser alternative if you would rather not install an app.
In CapCut, start a New project, set the canvas to 9:16, add your quote with Text → Add text, give it an animation (the desktop app has a Typewriter effect under Animation), add music from Audio, and Export. The steps below follow CapCut’s own guides; labels differ slightly between the phone and desktop apps.
If you’d rather skip the timeline, the maker at the top of this page does the same job in your browser: type the quote, pick one of 400 templates, add your music and export an MP4. Nothing to install, and nothing is uploaded.
Open CapCut and tap New project. Add a background: a photo, a clip, or a plain colour image.
On a phone, tap Aspect ratio at the bottom and choose 9:16. In the desktop app the setting is called Ratio.
Tap Text → Add text and type the quote. Style the font, colour and size, then drag the text clip to last the whole video.
With the text selected, open Animation. In the desktop app, Typewriter types the words out; set its duration so it finishes early. The phone app groups text effects under Animations.
Use Audio (on a phone, Audio → Sounds) to add a track, then tap Export at the top right and choose the resolution and frame rate.
In the maker above, type the quote and press Browse templates; the layout, font and animation come together in each template, the text auto-fits inside the safe area, and Export gives an MP4, a PNG or a GIF, in several sizes at once if you like. It is quicker for a single quote; CapCut is the better choice when the quote is one part of a longer edit.
